FOREMAN(softscape/hardscape/lawn)

  • Plan and execute small scale to large scale operations.

  • Supervise/coordinate/participate the day-to-day work activities of crew to complete project

  • Delegate job tasks to appropriate crew members that will include a foreman assistant and technicians.

  • Operate and oversee operation of various tools and equipment, including: heavy equipment, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.

  • May dig trenches and install drainage.

  • Ensures the entire crew displays professional appearance.

  • Ensures company grounds are maintained to Mountain Advantage standards.

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers.

  • Manage safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard.

  • Assist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project.

  • Enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on jobsites.

  • Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) standards.

  • Comply with all company policies and regulations.

  • Read and interpret landscape blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities.

  • Ensure the condition of the Client's property meets Mountain Advantage standards each day before leaving and upon Project completion.

  • Accepts Responsibility for confirming that his daily tasks as well as his crew’s daily tasks are completed.  The foreman is responsible for anything that happens or does not happen on his jobsite or anyone under his management.

  • Supervise and participate with the crew in daily tasks to complete projects. Some tasks may include but are not limited to: preparing and grading terrain, applying fertilizers, seeding and sodding lawns, transplanting shrubs and plants when necessary, using manual and power-operated equipment; making sure equipment is used safely and properly. 

  • Install retaining walls, pavers, stone, concrete, etc… according to industry, engineer, or architectural standards.  

  • Performs and oversees lawn care service work including Mowing, Trimming, Fertilizing, Spraying, Liming and Seeding, Aerations, etc.

     

EDUCATION: High school diploma or higher

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: would prefer some but willing to train right candidate
SCHEDULE: usually Monday-Friday 40hr/week minimum (8-5). During peak season we may start an hour earlier (7am)
WORK LOCATION: varies depending on customers location but usually outside

FOREMAN ASSISTANT

    • Under the direction of the Foreman, helps plan and execute small scale to large scale Hardscapes and or Softscapes operations.

    • Helps the Foreman to delegate job tasks to appropriate Landscape Technician to assist in the completion of landscape constructions.

    • Participate with the landscape technicians in preparing and grading terrain, applying fertilizers, seeding and sodding lawns, transplanting trees, shrubs and plants when necessary, using manual and power-operated equipment; make sure equipment is used safely and properly.

    • Operate various tools and equipment, including heavy equipment, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.

    • Assist in the construction of walkways, walls, fences, decks, posts, etc.  Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a regular basis.

    • Must obtain some creativity skills.

    • May dig trenches and install drains.

    • Responsible for proper use of all equipment (hand tools and power-operated).

    • Assist in ensuring technicians display professional appearance and manner.

    • Assist in ensuring company grounds are maintained and provide a professional appearance.

    • Assist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project.

    • Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are following compliance with government and company PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) standards.

    • Comply with all company policies and regulations.

CREW TECHNICIAN

  • Maintains a clean, neat, and safe job site defined by our company standards.

  • Treat customers in a polite, friendly and respectful manner and will never ignore them.

  • Observe and comply with safety practices and report any unsafe practices to the supervisor.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of client and company information

  • Maintains a clean, neat and professional appearance defined by company standards.

  • Must be able to stand and work for a full work day

  • Must be able to walk, bend, crouch, stoop, dig, rake, push a wheelbarrow or fertilizer spreader.

  • Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work outdoors in all weather conditions and with exposure to potentially unsafe conditions

  • use various hand and power tools lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment

  • vision to read printed materials and a computer screen

  •  hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone and/or radio.

  • Must work hours needed to achieve production and sales goals, including working some Saturdays as required during peak season or to as requested by Managers.

  • Customer service: Complete requested services in order to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.

  • Vehicles & equipment: Uses and maintains vehicles and equipment in a safe, appropriate fashion; promptly reports any defects or damage.

  • Other: Assist Lawn Care Foreman/assistant foreman and other Mountain Advantage team members with other assigned duties, as requested.
